Resident Programs
Resident Assistants
University Student Apartments is committed to building a strong community among our residents. Each court has a Resident Assistant who provides new resident orientation, assists with ongoing resident issues and plans monthly activities for their court.
Resident Council
Each year, the residents of University Student Apartments elect a Resident Council to represent the interests and concerns of the residents, propose policy, and provide programming for residents. Resident Council coordinates a monthly food co-op through a local non-profit organization to provide healthy, inexpensive groceries to the residents. www.foodco-op.org

Child Care
There are two childcare options on site provided for Student Apartment residents.
Student Apartments operates the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC), a high quality child care program licensed by the State of Utah. This education-based child care center is located in the East Community Center. Programs are available for children ages two through eight. ECEC gives priority registration to children of Student Apartments residents, University of Utah students, faculty and staff. Enrollment is available to the community at large on a space-available basis. For more information about available programs and tuition rates, call ECEC (581-8058). View Parents Handbook.

Student Apartments also provides space in our West Community Center for federally funded Salt Lake Community Action Head Start Program. Children of residents are given priority placement in morning and afternoon pre-school sessions for four year olds.

International Students
For our international residents, Student Apartments offers English conversation classes in cooperation with the International Center and the Cross Culture Club. Classes include fun activities and learning experiences. International spouses are welcome to enroll in these inexpensive classes and American residents are welcome to volunteer as tutors.
