Resident Council Minutes August 12, 2009

Programs—Resident Council members setting up for Raging Waters need to be there by 3:00 pm. Lianne will turn in the list  to the Main Office of Resident Council members and Program Board members who are working and need to pick up a ticket. Resident Council will bring cutting boards and knives to cut the watermelon. Trina will help with cleanup at 5:00 pm.
JumpTown’s sledge hammer is still in the closet. Lianne will email them and let them know it’s still here. JumpTown may stop by the Main Office and pick it up during business hours.
A resident repaired the speaker. Trina will pick it up.
The Block Party is September 19, 2009 from 10:30 AM -1:00 PM in the West Bowl. Lianne is reserving two bounce houses and one slide. Rick will email the insurance liability information to Lianne. Valerie will send the information she wants on the Block Party flyer to Lianne. Campus Recreation will have a yoga class under the trees. The ice cream cones will be down by the fire truck by the Main Office.
Lianne will get the kids fair information to Valerie.

Finance—Marci will send an updated budget to Lianne. The gloves receipt did come. Marci was reviewing some charges that were charged to the Resident Council account by error. Valerie will talk to Alma and sort things out.
News and Views for next month are done.
Marci will contact ASUU to meet with Rob who is over the ASUU Accounting. Marci will attend the upcoming ASUU budget training meeting.
Marci will email the Resident Assistants with information about the Classifieds Ads going online.  

Facilities— Residents are told Melissa that someone is taking vegetables in the East Village gardens. 
Melissa turned in the Food Co-op flyer for printing. The Food Co-op needs to approve the flyer before it can be printed.
The S’more star gazing event went well. Maintenance delivered the barbeque and supplies to the 1400 Court instead of the West Bowl. There were about 44 adults and 20 children.
Natalie’s dance class will be in the East Community Center on Thursday nights. Aileen’s class will be Saturday mornings in the West Community Center. Jeremy’s drum class will be Saturday morning in the East Community Center. If they want bulletins board flyers distributed, they will need to supply email Valerie for approval with all the basic information.. Those approved to use the Community Centers on an extended basis need to give the exact dates to Melissa and will be charged $5 for no shows.
Mitch Christensen for Housing and Residential Education does want the screen for August 20, 2009. Melissa will let him know he needs to pay for the rental with a campus order. Melissa will deliver, set up and take down the screen. Melissa will receive a $25 rent credit for her services.
On Friday, August 14, 2009 the 1400 court Resident Assistant will use the Resident Council sound system for her court party.

Mayor—Trina will fill out the application forms for our ASUU student groups and turn them into ASUU this week. Marci will attend the next Resident Assistant meeting and ask for more people to be on the Village People Council.
Advisory Board meetings for Fall will be September 23rd, October 21st, November 11th, and December 16th from 3:30-4:30pm. Trina will email the Advisory Board the specific dates.

Office Input—Parking lots are almost done and roof projects are beginning.
Parking permits expire on August 31, 2009. Residents need to purchase new permits before September 1, 2009.
