1-Report

Programs—Food for Raging Waters will be picked up tomorrow August 20th. Everything else is good to go.
Thomas Jarvis from the Non-Trad Board will host the first of his Information Seminars the first full week of October. This Information Seminar will be hosted by Kris Hale from the Childcare Coordinating Office on campus and focus on childcare options on campus and what parents should look for in childcare. Some other ideas Kris can talk about are Chip and WIC. Resident Council proposes Wednesday, October 7, 2009 for this seminar. Lianne will get back to Thomas with this recommendation. Thomas will need to notify Resident Council which day he’d like so we can reserve the Community Center.
Union Programs Board will bring seven to ten people to help with the Block Party. Lianne will meet with Michelle later this week and get a list of volunteers so she can make assignments before hand. Rick will email the insurance liability information to Lianne so she can get it to Ultimate Inflatables. Lianne obtained a personal contact for the climbing wall. If Lianne can’t get the climbing wall for the Block Party she will try to get it for the Year End Bash.
Lianne is working on October News and Views.
The October event will be the Union Programs Board Spookfest.
In November Resident Council will show the University of Utah football game against Brigham Young University. Lianne will discuss with her board whether we should show it at both the East and West Community Centers or just the West. They will also decide if they want to do a chili cook off. Lianne will email Merrill to reserve the Community Center or Centers.
The new barricades are up and functioning well. If Lianne wants to add sand to them she can contact Maintenance and they will get her sand and a funnel.

Finance— Movies on the Lawn was under budget.  The wrong charges will be reversed next month.
Marci will meet with Rob Phillips the Financial Advisor for ASUU on Friday August 21, 2009 to review ASUU funding.
Marci will attend the next RA meeting on Sept 10, 2009 and talk to them about participating in the Village People Council.
Marci is still working out details on how classifieds can be put online. Sven, the Medical Tower RA emailed Resident Council and suggested we email it every week to those who sign up to receive it regularly.

Facilities— Melissa emailed Jeremy and Aileen a to-do list that they need to complete before they can begin their classes. Natalie has taken care of her papers.
Melissa will set up the movie screen for Mitch tomorrow evening. Mitch wanted to have it set up all day, but Resident Council was not comfortable leaving it set up all day.
Melissa will talk with Tom Hamerstrom and discuss when Residents should clean up their garden plots. Melissa will specifically go over what Tom wants removed from the garden plots. Melissa will then email Lianne so she can add it to the October News and Views.
Melissa will begin working on her facilities newsletter and have it ready for Resident Council to review at the next meeting or via email.
Melissa will email Trina if Food Co-op needs more help.

Mayor—Our Fall 2009 Advisory Board meetings will be on September 23rd, October 21st, November 11th, and December 16th from 3:30-4:30pm. All other Resident Council meetings will be Wednesday from 4-5pm. Trina will email Merill to reserve the conference room.
