1-Report
Programs—Sprinkler Day went well. We recommend having more hoses next year and purchasing additional plastic for more slides. Resident Council saved the plastic for the slide. One slide should be designated for those five and under and the other for those five and older. Next year, Resident Council should advertise that children must be supervised by an adult. Resident Council should provide water or advertise to residents to bring their own. A water cooler with paper cups would be very inexpensive.
Tickets for Raging Waters will go on sale August 10, 2009. Lianne will print up a list of instructions for the cashier. Residents may only purchase discounted tickets for the number of people in their apartment. Residents may purchase non-discounted tickets for friends. Lianne will meet with her Programs Board today and have more information finalized for us next week.
Lianne will turn in her program write-ups to Trina each month.
The Programs Board is considering changing Family Week to March, perhaps the same week as Date Night.
Finance— Marci is almost done with the August calendar. Resident Council is looking at putting the calendar on the back of News and Views instead of the kids coloring corner.
Marci will continue looking into moving classifieds online.
Marci and Lianne will meet tomorrow to finalize a budget for this fiscal year.
Rick and Marci will do up a final budget for last fiscal year.
Facilities— Melissa will get the new garden signs laminated and hung up. Melissa will get three more magnets from Rick for the garden board.
Melissa is working on the August News and Views. Melissa will include info on the bridge from the West Village to Sunnyside Park, Raging Waters, and the Star Gazing/S’more Party.
Melissa will look in Building 722 for the plastic we need for the East Community Center table and chair cleaning event. Melissa will send everyone a reminder email when it gets closer so that no one misses this fun event.
The summer dance class has four students. Trina noticed the flyers don’t have a price which might deter people from looking into it.
Mayor—Trina is hoping to create more awareness about emergency preparedness. Some ideas are adding links to our website of various emergency websites, incorporating it into the Block Party, a topic for the Non-Trad Board information series, or perhaps having an event geared towards teaching CPR and First Aid.
Office Input— Phase 1 of the West Village parking lot project is scheduled to be completed on Friday, July 10, 2009. Phase 2 begins on Monday, July 13, 2009 and all residents need to move their cars from that area by Sunday evening.
