Resident Council Minutes October 14, 2009

Programs—Lianne has purchased most of the supplies for our Spookfest activities. Trina is in charge of the sucker pull and design a decorated box for the game. Marci will do pumpkin gourd bowling. There will be eight activities total. Lianne will check with Chris and see if he can print some signs for the Spookfest activities. Also, Lianne will see if Chris can laminate 8x11 cake walk pages. Resident Council suggested laminating two pieces back to back. One side will be for Halloween and the other side for future activities. Resident Council can get parking validations next week. Lianne will talk to the UPC Board to get tables ordered for our activities. UPC Board will deliver balloons for the driveway barricades on Monday, October 26, 2009. Lianne will brainstorm the best way to get the basketball shoot out to the Union Building. The USA van is available for Resident Council. Whoever uses the van must watch the defensive driving video and take the test.
Resident Council will buy chili from Sam’s club for the Utah vs. BYU football game activity on Saturday, November 28, 2009 in the East Community Center. Lianne asked how many people we think will show up. Lianne will plan for about 75 residents.
Finance— Marci has not heard back from ASUU regarding the Fall budget request.
Resident Council has budgeted $300 for the Spookfest and $300 for the Utah vs. BYU football game.
Facilities— Melissa draft an email for the Resident Assistants to add the Food Co-op Potluck on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 to their November newsletter. Lianne will send out the email for Melissa.
Melissa will schedule a night in November to clean the West Community Center tables and chairs.
Mayor—Trina will email the Advisory Board and remind them that the next Advisory Board meeting is Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 3:30-4:30 pm. Melissa will bring treats.
Trina will email Sharon Frei and Evan Papa and ask if they’d like to come to the November 4 or 18, 2009 Resident Council meeting to discuss a special projects bill.
Office Input— USA has a few apartments available and is accepting applications from post docs, faculty and staff.
