Resident Council Minutes October 21, 2009

Introduce Advisory Board
Programs—Lianne ordered the tables and chairs that Resident Council will need for Spookfest at the Union Building on October 28, 2009 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. The UPC fliers will go out this Thursday, October 22, 2009. Lianne will purchase Little Debbie snacks for the cake walk. The toy prizes have arrived.
Lianne emailed the Resident Assistants the upcoming Resident Council events for November so they can include them in their newsletters.
Thomas Jarvis from the ASUU Non-Traditional Student Board is interested in doing a bowling night and asked if we could provide the pizza. Lianne informed him that Resident Council does not have the budget for this event. Lianne will inform us if he decides to do a bowling night.
Resident Council needs to find a Santa for our December activity.
Finance— Marci updated the budget. Resident Council has spent a quarter of the budget, not including Spookfest.
Marci is still waiting to hear from ASUU on the Fall budget request.
Marci has the list of special projects that the Resident Assistants suggested. Marci will share these suggestions with Resident Council at the meeting on Wednesday, November , 2009.
Facilities— The dumpsters will be moved to the garden plots on October 23, 2009 and moved back on November 2, 2009. Barricades informing residents to clean their gardens will go up near the gardens on Monday, October 26, 2009. Melissa has sent an email to all residents with garden plots. The email didn’t seem to work, so Melissa will try sending it again.
Maintenance will deliver the canopy and tables to the West Community Center for Saturday, October 24, 2009 for the Food Co-op. Residents can pick up their food from 9:45 AM - 10:30 AM.
Mayor—Evan Papa and Sharon Frei from the Village People will attend the November 4, 2009 Resident Council meeting to review the special projects suggestions.
Resident Council would like to place a permanent bulletin board flier on all boards reminding residents that classified ads are available online. Marci will email Chris a count of bulletin boards and their size.
Office Input— An email will be going out informing residents of a Internet outage. Resident Council would like to include a link to News and Views so residents can print off the trick-or-treat sign if they need to. It will also include information about classified ads being online. Valerie attended a CERT training on campus. She is looking for ways to help the USA community be more prepared in the event of a natural disaster.
