1-Report
Programs—The ASUU sponsored child care seminar is tonight at 7:00 PM in the West Community Center. Lianne will open the building for them.
Resident Council will begin setting up for the Spookfest at 3:00 PM at the Union Building. The Spookfest will run from 4-6pm. Rick has parking validations for us. Residents can take the campus shuttle. Resident Council is in charge of carnival games. Ideas are: basketball toss, sucker pull, cake walk, gourd bowling, ring around the ghost, pin the nose on the witch, musical tombstones. Marci will email Lianne the budget for this month’s activity. Lianne will try to get the UPC Board to turn in the Spookfest fliers early.
Finance— Marci had her meeting with the Publication Council. She informed them of the cost per month for News and Views and told them of changes that we have made. The monthly calendar is now on the back of News and Views. In addition, Classifieds have gone online. Next year when we apply for funding, Resident Council will request funds for driveway banners. Valerie will have Syd track these costs.
Marci finished the budget request and it has been turned in to ASUU. She will let Resident Council know if additional funds have been approved.
Marci finished the November calendar for News and View.
Facilities— Monsters and Muffins went well. There were nineteen people, which is good considering the activity was during the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Semi Annual Conference. The participants had lots of fun.
Garden fliers are in the Resident Assistants boxes to be delivered. Tom got the order for the barricades that need to go by the garden. Resident Council will be using their new barricades for other activities. Valerie will talk to Tom about moving the dumpsters October 23rd so residents can get a head start over the weekend.
Melissa put a work order in for canopy and tables for the October 24, 2009 Food Co-op. Bill or a Food Co-op representative will come to the potluck on November 24, 2009 in the East Community Center.
Mayor—Trina finished News and Views for November.
Chris will have the Home Buying Seminar banners at the Main Office by noon on November 6, 2009. Liz will have they set-up prior to Monday, November 9, 2009.
Office Input— With the changes in reimbursement process which took effect October 1, 2009, the first payment option is with the purchasing card. Small purchase can reimbursement can be made through petty cash. USA also has a Sam’s Club membership card. Sam’s Club will accept the University purchasing card and sales tax exemption.
The roofing project is going great. The contractor is finishing the 800 B building and will begin on the 900 C building next week.
The parking lot project has been moved to next spring because of the change in weather.
