Ultimate Inflatables didn’t have insurance so we could not use them.  Little Caesars is all taken care of. Lianne went over the set up with Mark Smith. She will have maps for everyone on Saturday. The helium will be delivered Friday, September 18, 2009 and should be put in the Resident Council storage area.
The Spookfest is on October 28, 2009 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Resident Council will be in charge of carnival games.
The University of Utah football game against Brigham Young University is on November 28, 2009 at 3:00 PM. Lianne has reserved the East Community Center. Tentative plans are to serve chili.

Finance— The Publication Council sent an email to Marci and would like to meet with her. Marci will review Resident Council funding request prior to the meeting. Marci will discuss New and Views and how we’ve added the calendar to the back of that. She will also inform them that we are trying Classifieds Ads online again.
The Block Party will be slightly over budget; however the last few events have been under budget. Also,  we can adjust future  events as well.
Marci went to the Resident Assistants meeting and they gave her lots of ideas for special projects.

Facilities— Garden plot flyers will go out October 8, 2009 to residents who have a garden plot. Clean up will be from October 26, 2009 through November 2, 2009. The  garbage dumpsters will  be there until November 2, 2009. Melissa will put in a work order to have the old Resident Council banner barricades delivered to the gardens Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Melissa will also email Chris Keller to get the banners printed.
Melissa will call Mitch Christensen from HRE and ask him about the Campus Order from the movie screen rental and email everyone with the update.
Melissa will work out the details for the October Food Co-op as the Community Center was doubled booked on October 24, 2009.
Aileen Tamez, who teaches the West Community Center dance classes, requested another hour slot so she could split her class in two. Melissa will email her and inform her that there are no other times available due to building constraints.
Melissa will create a flyer for the two upcoming Facilities activities. The first activity is Monster Magic and Monster Muffins on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 10:00 am. The second activity will be Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in the East Village. This activity will focus on the Food Co-op. Melissa will talk to Shaela as she begins trying to get a representative from the Food Co-op to come to the activity.

Mayor— A resident had a request for dates that she has reserved the community centers. Resident Council approved the request as for a one time exception. Valerie will write a letter to inform the resident of the decision and copy to Resident Council.
Resident Council would like to send a card to the Vermaas family expressing our sympathies for the death of John Vermaas, former Resident Council Mayor. Melissa will pick up a card and drop it off at the Main Office for everyone to sign. Melissa will deliver the card to the Vermaas family Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Memorial Service.  Resident Council added this to the upcoming News and Views in the Resident Council Corner.
The next Advisory Board meeting will be September 23, 2009 from 3:30-4:30 pm. Trina will send a reminder email to all members. Trina will bring treats.
Trina informed Marci of two future events she might want to add to the calendar.
